Interesting title, right. Sunday is not just about the NFL. Yes, the full regular NFL season begins. And tens of millions will watch America’s most popular sport and TV’s most-viewed programming. BUT, this post is not about the NFL.

During these complex times, including the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II, there is a monumental anniversary. One that is in danger of diminishing in importance among many people. We are referring to the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Indeed, there is a whole generation of Americans not born as of then.

It is hard to believe that this Sunday is the 21st anniversary of this tragedy. We must NEVER forget. To see the two articles we’ve written over the years, click here.

21st Anniversary of 9-11-2001: Sunday Is Not Just About the NFL

Last year, we wrote:

As native New Yorkers, we have visited the reflecting pool and museum multiple times. It tears a hole in the heart every time. If you are like us, you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing at the time the planes crashed into the towers.

On this solemn day, we hope that all of us can get along. And cut down on the vitriol that spews out. We honor September 11 by thinking about the things that unite us. Not those that divide us. As well as by being kind to the families whose loved ones perished. And appreciating the bravery and commitment of first responders.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum provides a lot of information and resources:

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum pays tribute to the victims and honors the survivors of the September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 terror attacks. And observes the anniversary of the end of the 9/11 rescue and recovery efforts.

Access Museum resources such as interactive timelines, digital exhibitions (including a collection of downloadable posters that tell the story of 9/11), oral historiesregistries, and the 9/11 primer, to learn more about the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing and 9/11 and its aftermath.

Join us in active remembrance on Sunday as we mark the 21st anniversary of the attacks. Snap a picture of the sky wherever you are and post it to Instagram to show that we’re all connected. #RemembertheSky #NeverForget911
