During this period of thanksgiving, remember Small Business Saturday 2020 occurs during Thanksgiving Day weekend. November 28, 2020.

Don’t only shop at a chain store or online. Shop locally. If you do, maybe the small firms you patronize will still exist in 2021. Maybe. [Note: This post comes from our sister site. Evans on Marketing].

More Than Ever: Remember Small Business Saturday 2020

Two big supporters of SBS 2020 are American Express and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

According to the SBA:

Saturday, November 28, 2020 is Small Business Saturday. A day to celebrate and support small businesses. For all they do for their communities. This year, we know small businesses really need our support. As they navigate, retool, and pivot from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Please join the SBA and organizations across the country in supporting your local small businesses by shopping at a small business.

Founded by American Express in 2010 and officially cosponsored by SBA since 2011, SBS has become an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season. According to the 2019 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey, 70% of U.S. consumers know of Small Business Saturday.

The SBA, Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), and American Express will kick off the 2020 holiday season. By encouraging consumers to support our nation’s nearly 32 million independent businesses all holiday season.
